Dr. Marion Mass | Healing Healthcare | Nov 21st 2018 | MD for Moms Radio

Photo attribution: Every Wednesday 1pm (ET) on The BBM Global Network, TuneIn and iHeartRadio or as a podcast on iTunes. This week on MD for Moms, I'll be interviewing Dr. Marion Mass, co-founder of Practicing Physicians of America, an advocacy group focusing on supporting physicians so they can treat patients as they were trained to. We will discuss why Dr. Mass started PPA and what she believes is broken about our healthcare system and most importantly, what can be done to fix it. No one is really happy with our current healthcare system - patients are often annoyed by long wait times and short visits for in-network providers or hefty price-tags for out of network clinicians; physicians feel squeezed to focus on Press-Ganey ratings over providing good clinical care. In short, no body wins. Everyone is keenly aware of rising prescription drug prices and incredibly high insurance premiums - sometimes it feels as if we are being priced out of affordable healthcare in America. Yet, physicians are not the beneficiaries of these high price tags and instead, doctors are being pushed more than ever to see more patients in less time for less money. No one wins and something has to change. Dr. Marion Mass has been working tirelessly to spread awareness about the flaws in our healthcare system and ways to fix it. She is going to explain how we as healthcare consumers and as participants in the medical system can advocate for lasting beneficial change and much more.
