MD For Moms Radio, Every Wednesday 1pm (ET) on The BBM Global Network, TuneIn and iHeartRadio or as a podcast on iTunes.

This week on MD for Moms, I interview ENT and mother of four Dr. Amy Stinson about being a mom in quarantine. We are getting real about the ups and downs of the last six weeks – what has been hard, what has worked well? Essays abound about how to entertain your kids, how to make the best of the COVID19 shelter in place recommendations, and while these are all great ideas, the truth is that being stuck at home with our kids isn’t easy.

Sharing our experiences openly and honestly helps everyone – so we are going to be real, and welcome you to call in and tell us about your time with your kiddos. Have you had a harder time than expected or has it been ok? What have you been doing to pass the time? How is virtual school going for your family? Share your ups and downs with us as we share ours with you.

Call with YOUR experiences – we want to hear from you!

I am a general Otolaryngologist that relocated to my hometown after residency in 2012.  I had a very successful private practice as part of a large multi specialty group.  There was heavy emphasis on rhinology including in office balloon sinuplasty, endocrine surgery, pediatrics, laryngology and allergy. My multi specialty group sold to a local hospital chain. Due to this I did sign a 1 year contract with the hospital while exploring opportunities.  We chose a private practice in Orlando and relocated. Unfortunately, volume is low and I am not building a sustainable practice. I am looking for another opportunity to have a successful practice as I now have 7 years experience. I greatly enjoy the opportunity to advance my practice through leadership and entrepreneurship. I was active on my Board of Directors and I would love to be able to pursue my MBA  or MCHA. I am also interested in teaching opportunities as well. I have had the pleasure of being adjunct faculty for 2 medical schools.  This provided me with both lecture and mentoring experience.

I am married to my husband, Patrick, for 16 years.  He has his Doctorate of Pharmacy and is currently a hospital pharmacist. We will be pursuing job opportunities for him as well.  He has oncology experience and is interested in hospital pharmacy or even medical science liaison opportunities with Pharma.

We have 4 children, Deacon – 12, Reed – 10, Kerrigan – 6, and Madi – 4.  The kids are very active in sports including baseball, ballet, and basketball. We love spending time at the lake or the beach. We vacation to the Gulf Coast often a few times a year. My husband and boys are active outdoorsmen and enjoy hunting as well as duck call making. I play both women’s doubles and mixed doubles tennis, continue with ballet and dabble in interior design and fashion.
