Dr Shannon Tighe

Every Wednesday 1pm (ET) on The BBM Global Network, TuneIn and iHeartRadio or as a podcast on iTunes.

This week on MD for Moms, I interview Dr Shannon Tighe about summer safety. We all know that there are some real dangers associated with the fun of summer, right? But did you know that drowning is a leading cause of death for kids age 1-4 and that three kids die every day from drowning? Those numbers are incredibly scary and very preventable. Learn about how to safeguard from this danger and boat-related accidents, sunburns, ticks-borne illnesses and other common issues associated with the fun and freedom of summer.

Are your kids going to camp this summer? Do you know what to talk to them about in advance? We will explore what topics should be explored for kids going to day camp and for kids going to sleep away camp in an age-appropriate way. We all want our kids to be as safe as possible while enjoying the sun on their backs and ice-cream dripping down their faces, and we will discuss how to make that happen.
