MD For Moms Radio, Every Wednesday 1pm (ET) on The BBM Global Network, TuneIn and iHeartRadio or as a podcast on iTunes.
This week on MD for Moms, I interview Dr. Mously Le Blanc, aka Dr. Mo, who specializes in complex pain syndromes and lifestyle medicine. She melds traditional medicine with holistic, complementary treatments. Dr. Mo practices Energy Medicine, which allows our natural, inherent energy to help guide care. Energy imbalances, which cause illness, are restored to optimize health and wellness.
Dr. Mo explains how this alternative form of medicine can be used in advance of sickness preventatively, and therapeutically for pain syndromes, for illnesses and to maximize health. Rather than relying on a pill for every ailment, we learn how things such as therapeutic touch, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, acupressure, Reiki among other modalities can reduce distress.

Learn more about my guest, Dr. Mously Le Blanc:
Dr. Mously Le Blanc is a strong believer in taking a holistic approach to care that addresses the mind, body, heart and soul. In her experience as a Physiatry doctor treating cancer and chronic pain patients, she has witnessed directly how emotional traumas result in physical manifestations of pain and illness. She has found that energy is the connecting aspect that unifies the mental body (thoughts, beliefs), physical body (neuromusculoskeletal system) and soul body (chakras, meridians, emotions). With this understanding, she believes that a multimodal approach to care is the most effective method of treatment.
Dr. Le Blanc has a unique treatment approach that blends the best of Western Medicine (tests, medication, physical therapy), Energy Medicine including Traditional Chinese Medicine, Reiki, reflexology, meditation, massage and counseling strategies. She has trained with leaders in the field of traditional Pain Management as well as within the field of Energy Medicine taking her to China and Thailand for immersive training. Equipped with this specialized knowledge, Dr. Le Blanc has established herself as an expert at maximizing quality of life and minimizing pain of the most complex nature.
Dr. Le Blanc graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Physiatry) at Columbia University and Cornell University Hospitals. She is a highly awarded and sought after physician recognized for her academic accomplishments and stellar patient care.
Additionally, Dr. Le Blanc is a certified life coach with a specialization in relationship counseling. Unfortunately, one of the silent damages of chronic illness is the breakdown of families. She utilizes her expertise in this area to support clients in maintaining a happy and healthy home life for optimal healing. She is a Reiki Master with training in Usui and Karuna techniques. She is internationally certified in acupressure. She also is trained in several manual techniques including myofascial release, shiatsu, cupping and reflexology.
Lastly, she is an author and motivational speaker focused on the physical health and emotional wellness connection. She has been interviewed in several magazines, podcasts and radio shows. Dr. Le Blanc is committed to her family. She is happily married and mother to a 4 year old boy and puppy.
