MD For Moms Radio, Every Wednesday 1pm (ET) on The BBM Global Network, TuneIn and iHeartRadio or as a podcast on iTunes.
This week on MD for Moms, I’ll be interviewing Dr. Melina Jampolis, internist and board-certified physician nutrition specialist, writer, speaker, and podcast host about weight management. The holidays are around the corner, and that means parties and cookies. It can be tough to enjoy oneself while also not gaining extra weight. Finding the ideal diet can feel impossible, and sticking with a plan becomes fairly hard when treats abound. Many people start rigid diets only to fail shortly thereafter. Others throw up their hands at the idea of lifestyle changes, and many find once they fall off the ‘diet wagon,’ getting back on is hard and stressful.
Information abounds about various diet options, and it can be confusing to figure out which one is best for you and your body type. Similarly, establishing what defines a healthy weight for you can be tricky. Muscle weighs more than fat, so how much should we rely on the scale versus how we look and feel?
Enter Dr. Melina… this is her specialty! She uses science based approaches to support people in their journey to wellness. She incorporates nutrigenics and other components of precision nutrition into her treatment paradigms, and explains to us what that means on this week’s show. She also shares her tricks and suggestions for optimizing weight and health on this week’s MD for Moms.
