MD For Moms Radio, Every Wednesday 1pm (ET) on The BBM Global Network, TuneIn and iHeartRadio or as a podcast on iTunes.
This week on MD for Moms, I’ll be interviewing Dr. Kat Zechar, internist and educator, about a wide array of topics. We start the show with a discussion of ‘booger management for adults’ aka how to stay healthy and manage the sniffles, we transition to smoking cessation and then explore maximizing adult learning and recall. As adults, it’s not always clear what to do when we feel ‘off.’ Not super sick, not COVID-sick, but still not good. Not every sneeze or sore throat needs medical treatment, but there are many things to do before asking the doctor for a ‘Z-Pack’ or steroids.
Smoking is a bad habit – everyone knows that. It is also a very hard habit to break. Dr Zechar reviews the multiple evidence-based treatment options to make quitting more accessable and likely to succeed. Lastly, we explore how to learn most efficiently as adults.

Learn more about my guest, Dr. Kat Zechar:
Kat is a physician educator and married mom of 2. She focuses on resident wellness and feedback with a lot of hands-on-mentoring, so she frequently jokes that it feels like she has 54 children. Life is a special kind of juggling for her right now with a husband who works 24 hour shifts at the firehouse, and two young kiddos… but when she breaks away from that her loves are Aerial Acrobatics, meditation, and single malt scotch.
