Dr Caroline Chang | Sun Safety | July 11th 2018 | MD for Moms Radio

MD for Moms | Wellness

MD For Moms Radio, Every Wednesday 1pm (ET) on The BBM Global Network, TuneIn and iHeartRadio or as a podcast on iTunes.

This week on MD for Moms, I’ll be interviewing Rhode Island dermatologist Dr Caroline Chang about sun safety. We will explore ways to keep skin protected while still enjoying the outdoors, and Dr Chang will explain why being careful when it comes to sun exposure is so imperative.

Do you know which sunscreens are best and which are hype? Does spending extra money on sunscreen make a difference, and are sprays really so bad (they sure make life easier as a parent)? Did you know that insect repellent impacts sunscreen efficacy, so one should go on first – you’ll have to listen to find out if sunscreen should go on before or after bug spray.

Additionally, what medications change the way skin reacts to sun exposure and what can be done to prevent resultant bad sunburns? Do lasers help reduce the negative impact sun has on the skin? Plus, should laser treatments be done in the summer? These are only a few of the many topics we will delve into on this week’s show.
